Maria Teresa Rodriguez Wins Miss Costa Rica 2008

The new Miss Costa Rica Universe 2008, Maria Teresa Rodriguez, was crowned on Friday April 11, with a haute couture theme reminiscent of Milan, Victoria’s Secret, and worldwide fashion weeks. Channel 7, owners of the Miss Universe franchise in Costa Rica, combined the beauty of the Costa Rican woman with fashion sense, which made a perfect alliance of creativity, taste and innovation.
The winner, Ms. Rodriguez, is 21 years old, and stands at 170 cm (5 feet 7 inches) and studies Marketing. The runner-up was Marilyn Marin, followed by second runner-up Diana Mackenzie. The panel of judges were: Marianela Dobles, ex Miss Costa Rica; Mike Blum, German photographer; Lorena Velasquez, TV presenter and international chef; Nancy Soto, ex Miss Costa Rica; and Luis Kaver, odontologist.
