CRWIFI: You really should post on your web site or provide a contract that states exactly what your internet policy is for your company

Thursday, May 12th, 2011

I am requesting that the company, CRWIFI, be posted on your web site Blacklist. The attached email is self-explanatory as to why but this is a company to beware of when doing business with them.

Email Subject: RE: CRWIFI Usage

Ray,
You really should post on your web site or provide a contract that states exactly what your internet policy is for your company. You are basically telling me that if a customer uses the internet all day and all night, and uses more internet than what your company thinks they should be using then you are telling them how to use the internet and how much of the internet your company feels they can use. You state on your website that you offer an Entertainment Package for heavy duty web junkies–doesn’t say, oh, by the way, if you play online games 24 hours a day we are going to shut you down due to heavy internet usage. I have constantly stated that for the Entertainment package that you offer on your web site that I would pay for it, and I also told you that I stream TV from my Sling Box from Los Angeles and thus, you offered the four Meg burst for better picture quality. I realize that you are in an apparently difficult business here in Costa Rica, but it’s wrong to tell a customer that your company is considering closing your account after monitoring for a few days because in your view, I use too much internet for your liking. The internet service your company provides comes with no written disclaimers on your web site or a written contract upon installation telling your customers what your company policies are for internet service, especially, internet usage or for that matter, how much your internet usage your company allows on a monthly basis. My wife right now is sending a complaint to SUTEL as I write this and will talk to my lawyer on Monday as this is wrong for any company, especially one that has no physical business office for current and potential customers to visit or any clear company policies.

Costa Rica Stores Could Be Fined for Cheating Customers

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Check Your Receipts After Shopping in Costa Rican Supermarkets.

The Ministry of Economy, Industry and Commerce (MEIC) recently conducted a study to determine whether the products in Costa Rica’s Canasta Básica (”basic basket”) — necessities like rice, beans, toilet paper, etc. — can actually be bought for their government-specified prices. Study results were both surprising and disappointing: not only do many supermarkets charge ¢20 to ¢225 more per Canasta Básica products, but five of the 20 grocery stores tested (25%) cheat their customers by secretly charging prices at the register more expensive than those marked on the shelf.
