Now, just so I understand this. They want to charge us NOW for fuel that they supposedly purchased last YEAR?! I want to see their receipts, at the very least. If they spent so damn much last year, how did they remain in operation? Maybe they could pay for these extra costs by cutting staff (since the agency is so top heavy in Administration, they could save literally millions right there), as in getting rid of some of the dead wood.

Also, to further inflate that speculation that the real number of complaints might be hundreds of times what Sutel reported, keep in mind that their process is so convoluted, and so complicated that most folks decide not to even make the effort.

And, yet, the electricity supplied by ICE is still the highest priced I have ever seen, and just about the least reliable. I remember, way back in the 50's, in rural Washington State, our electricity was more reliable (not to mention, way, way cheaper).

I beg to differ with your opinion as expressed here. Costa Rica stopped paying lip service to the concept of true eco-tourism about ten years ago, and now, as a nation, they pretty much sort of act like they are involved, while continuing a long list of practices that are bad for the environment.

Now, that is just plain messed up. First, they upset the apple cart, and now that Costa Rica makes an effort to re-establish its own sovereignty, they go to Court?

Does that number include those who left with no intention of returning? Like, disappointed, scammed, ripped off, frustrated, 'foreigners' who had tried to immigrate?

They could easily have saved the cost of this report by simply taking a very brief look at the frickin' highways!

I'm really happy for you, but you have pointed out (quite without intending to, I'm sure) one of my prime dislikes about our life in CR. We do not live anywhere near the Central Valley (and, yes, this was a deliberate choice on our part), so to read a review of a place like your Don Fernando's does me no good at all.

Unfortunately, my experience in Costa Rica is that there is no place where I can get decent meat at a fair and decent price (i.e., affordable). I can get good Ribeyes, but they cost an arm and a leg from Wilson's Fine Meats, and they will bring them to me, but we have to do this only once in a while due to the high prices.
